An unused account can retain personal data, but deleting it without preparation can break subscriptions, recovery methods or sign-ins at other services. Account closure may be irreversible and does not automatically remove data already shared elsewhere.
Before pressing Delete
- Sign in through the service's official site or app. Review stored files, messages, purchases and any active subscription. Export data you actually need and open a sample from the export to confirm it worked.
- Check whether the account is a recovery address, a 'Sign in with' provider or the owner of shared files. Move those dependencies to an account you will keep.
- Review connected apps and revoke grants you no longer need. Cancel subscriptions separately if the provider's deletion process does not do that automatically.
- Read the service's own deletion screen for its waiting period, retained records and reactivation rules. Save confirmation of the request, then complete deletion through that official flow.
