Fix one broken website by clearing only its Firefox site data

When one website loops at sign-in, shows a stale cart or displays a broken preference, its stored cookies or site data may be involved. Deleting all browser data is often unnecessary and can log you out everywhere. A site-specific reset is a narrower diagnostic step, though it can remove drafts or offline content stored by that site.

Before you start

Save any unsent text and note the site's account and recovery method. Confirm that you can sign back in, especially if the site's two-factor method lives on another device.

Do it step by step

  1. Try a normal reload and check whether the service reports an outage. Do not delete local data for a server-wide incident.
  2. In Firefox, open the site's address-bar information panel and choose Clear cookies and site data, or find its domain under Settings, Privacy & Security, Cookies and Site Data, Manage Data.
  3. Confirm the domain carefully if it has several subdomains. Remove only the entries you intend to reset and accept the browser's confirmation.
  4. Reload the site and sign in again. Check the original problem before changing extensions, DNS or the entire browser profile.
  5. If it persists, test a private window or a fresh profile to isolate extensions and other local settings, then contact the site's support with the specific error.

Check the result

The site should reload in a clean local state and either work or show the same reproducible error. Other unrelated site sessions should remain intact.

If something goes wrong

Clearing cookies can remove a cart or sign-in state. Do not use it as the first step when a service's unsynced draft may be your only copy.

Know the limit

This removes browser-side data for the selected site, not the account or files stored on the server. It also does not revoke an active session on another device. Mozilla's site-data removal instructions
