Review Safari's cross-site tracking and website warning settings

Safari includes controls that limit third-party tracking and warn about suspected fraudulent websites. Turning them off to make one page work may affect every subsequent visit. A site problem deserves a narrow investigation before weakening a global protection.

Before you start​

Update iPhone and note the website that appears broken. If the site requests payment or a login, verify its official domain through an independent route first.

Do it step by step​

1. Open Settings, Apps, Safari, and inspect Prevent Cross-Site Tracking and Fraudulent Website Warning.
2. Keep both protections enabled unless you understand a specific, documented requirement. A blank or broken page can also be caused by an extension, network or site outage.
3. For camera, microphone or location, inspect the separate Safari site-permission settings. Prefer Ask or a site-specific decision over a blanket Allow.
4. If a known site fails, test it without changing global security settings: reload, check the site's status, and review extension behavior under Safari's settings.
5. If you do change a setting for troubleshooting, record the original value and restore it after the test. Revisit the page through a known bookmark rather than a link from an unsolicited message.

Check the result​

Safari should continue warning about suspected fraudulent sites and limiting third-party site data. A repaired website should work without leaving global safeguards disabled.

If something goes wrong​

Warnings are not available in every region and cannot catch every malicious site. A missing warning should never replace checking the domain and reason for the visit.

Know the limit​
