A camera account may have a primary administrator, shared family viewers, guest invitations and active app sessions. Changing the Wi-Fi password will not necessarily remove a person whose cloud-account permission remains. A camera pointed at a bedroom or entrance deserves a deliberate access audit, especially after a move or relationship change.
Before you start
Have physical access to the camera and its official app. If removing someone could create a personal-safety risk, choose a safe time and seek support first.Do it step by step
- Open the manufacturer's official app and inspect users, shared access, invitations and recent logins or access logs where offered.
- Identify every viewer and distinguish an administrator who can change settings from a viewer who can only watch video. Remove people and invitations no longer needed.
- Change the camera or cloud-account password to a unique one and enable available two-factor authentication. Check other devices signed in to that account.
- Update camera firmware and the viewing app. Review whether remote viewing is enabled and turn it off if local-only use meets your needs.
- Ask an authorized person to test their access and confirm a removed viewer can no longer load a live feed. Recheck for unwanted sharing after the changes.
