What it means
A site-level Allow entry tells Firefox how to handle a future camera request. It does not by itself prove the camera is active now. Active-use indicators, a running tab and operating-system camera controls are separate signals to check when you suspect unexpected access.
A real-world example
A video-call service remains on the site's Allow list after the meeting ends. The user removes that saved choice but finds no evidence of an active camera session.
What to do
Review the site's Camera and Microphone lists, revoke access you no longer need and test the next request. Check browser and OS active-use indicators when investigating a current concern.
The distinction that matters
Removing one site's permission does not block every website or every native app. Conversely, blocking at the operating-system layer can prevent Firefox from using a camera even when the website has an Allow grant. Name the layer you are changing.
