Ticket screenshot versus a live ticket transfer

What it means

A ticket screenshot displays event information but may not represent a current, transferable admission credential. Some issuers use changing mobile codes or account-bound tickets. A supported transfer inside the official issuer's system is stronger evidence that access has moved to the buyer.

A real-world example

A seller sends a screenshot for a sold-out show and refuses the official transfer. Several buyers could receive the same image. The real ticket may remain in the seller's account or be cancelled.

What to do

Check the event's permitted transfer and resale path, pay through a platform with buyer protections, and confirm the ticket appears in your own account.

The distinction that matters

Rules differ by event and issuer, so no one app's process covers every ticket. A fake transfer email may also mimic the issuer, so open the app directly to verify ownership.
