What it means
A keyword filter hides comments matching selected phrases. Filter all comments, where available, hides every comment on the account's videos until it is approved. TikTok also offers unwanted-comment and Creator Care filters based on its detection. These are distinct workload choices: a narrow keyword catches a repeated scam; an all-comment queue requires sustained moderation or genuine replies never appear.
A real-world example
A small creator filters the phrase 'free crypto support' and keeps normal questions visible. During a harassment wave they switch to all-comment review. After a week, hundreds of sincere questions remain hidden because nobody assigned time to approve them.
What to do
Choose the smallest filter that meets the immediate need. Open Privacy, Comments, review the available filters and inspect Review filtered comments regularly. Approve legitimate discussion, delete spam and report abuse when warranted. Remove overbroad keywords after false positives.
The distinction that matters
Filtered does not mean deleted or reported. Filter all may not be available on every account. Turning comments off for one post is another separate action. Assign a moderator and a review schedule before enabling a full queue, especially if visitors rely on answers to questions about purchases or support. Even effective filtering cannot retract screenshots or stop someone from posting threats elsewhere.
