Use iPhone Safety Check to review who can see your information

Location and data sharing can outlast the reason you enabled them. Apple's Safety Check gathers several sharing and account-security controls in one place. It is especially useful when another person previously helped set up your phone, but changing access can be visible to that person through lost sharing or account notifications. Plan the timing with your safety in mind.

Review deliberately​

1. On an iPhone with iOS 16 or later, open Settings → Privacy & Security → Safety Check. Apple requires an Apple Account with two-factor authentication and a signed-in device for the feature.
2. Choose Manage Sharing & Access to inspect individual people and apps. Note who can see your location or other data, then stop only the sharing you no longer intend.
3. If immediate broad action is needed, Emergency Reset can stop sharing with people and apps and walk through device and account security. Read each screen; the reset may interrupt legitimate arrangements.
4. Review connected Apple devices, verification phone numbers and your passcode or Apple Account password. Check non-Apple services separately, because Safety Check cannot change every social or cloud account.

After making changes​

Test that intended emergency contacts or family arrangements still work, then keep a private record of what you changed. Apple's Safety Check guide distinguishes selective review from Emergency Reset and notes that managed or Screen Time restricted phones may have fewer options. Apple's additional considerations explain that other accounts and passwords can sit outside the tool. If immediate personal danger is involved, prioritize contacting trusted local help; a settings screen is not a complete safety plan.
