Privacy News '123456' password linked to Denmark data breach affecting 8.8M people

I smile when I read 'your data will be safely saved by us' - I think yes heard that before, then when there is a breach, 'safeguards have been enabled to prevent this happening again - We are sorry for any inconvenience', its time I feel for these to be major comebacks when breaches occur, far to much info is saved that does not need to be, & saved unsafely, we talk lots on here regarding security but most info is lost by others not ourselves.

This used to be my preferred password for temporary accounts, but current websites require at least one character of each type (uppercase, lowercase, special, etc.), so I wonder how some users can still use it.

it appears to have been an IT shop running a GOV software, as such the software was probably written in COBOL
