Some people on wilders are reporting that the latest update of Total Security enables by default the bitdefender engine and disables the in-house cloud.
Did not come across this issue yet (not restarted since the on-the-fly upgrade), however I use "Security" Preset which installs Avira + BD by default. I've deactivated them, but they're still used in active protection (and only during that). For Malware Hub testing, I deactivate active protection when performing static scans, cloud only (!) [still] works like a charm (and detection is great most of the time).

EDIT: This is the link @davetenay was taking 'bout.

Many thanks for sharing, just reinstalled it as on my main PC the previous version had issues. No protection whatsoever running (not even a symbol), but some Q360 processes (all 'bout 1 MB). Had to deactivate autostart, otherwise no chance to get it uninstalled.
Let's see how it turns out with the new version.
My laptop ran the old version with no issue...

UPDATE: Running fine now on first glance (did a restart), however, direct upgrade via QTS360 update seems not to work, clicking on the version number shows no upgrade notification.
Upgrading via downloaded .exe works fine though.

I would recommend using it on Custom mode, just select custom mode and turn on the Bitdefender and Avira engines. Do not select scan file when opened.

There's already a new one waiting in the pipeline, no info on QTS360 by now... Have been offered it on updating the signatures by clicking on the version number - v 8.2.0.1138.
Will update this post as soon as I notice any changes.

Update:

8.2.0.1138Apr 26, 2016
  • Fixed: Bug fixes
Nothing visibly changed in the programme (for me).
