After much running around today, I got back to my Windows 8 ASUS computer to run my machine embroidery software. But in attempting to get onto the internet from same, I could not get the search page to load. So I moved over to my (much better) Apple MacBook and looked online to see if it was a computer problem or an internet connection problem. My Apple connected just fine. I looked up "aartemis" since it keeps popping up in my search url, though I had no idea what it was. I figured it was just the way an ASUS computer hooked up to the internet. I do have Kaspersky Internet Security to avoid malware, but I have no idea how good it is. Anyway, I found your site after searching my Apple on "aartemis." So I went back to my ASUS and went into the Control Panel. I got to "Uninstall or change a program," but I click on "aartemis Browser Protector," click "Uninstall/Change," and nothing happens--it does NOT uninstall aartemis. Not a thing happens. It's crazy--does "Uninstall" work or not in Windows 8, or is it there to make you FEEL like it does something? Argh! Help! Before aartemis does anything else to my machine, I really want it off. How in heck do I do this? I am not an experienced or techie user. Thank you soooo much! And what is Microsoft SkyDive? I really want that off my machine. I did not add anything to my post, but it won't let me select "no," so I selected OTL LOG.
