August 13, 2013. Changes in version 11.0.3566.0

  1. Updater changed: no custom install page (the option for changing installation folder is on the first installation page now), Ad-Aware Safe Browsing Add-On checkboxes are on the second installation page (if no Ad-Aware toolbar is detected), PasswordBox installation is added on the third installation page.
  2. Download Report link is available within Scanned Report Details table. It enables users to download detailed information about each scan in a separate file on computer.
  3. 3 new languages are added to Ad-Aware 11: Georgian, Russian and Chinese.
  4. Program icon has changed. Now a square shape with white, capital letter A in the middle.
  5. Depending on the activated version, color of the program symbol will be different within the program window: Free and Free (not activated) – orange, Pro – blue, Total – dark-blue, Personal – green.

anyone what engine they are using in this latest beta version....I think I have read somewhere in here that they have removed viper engine....is it true??

Lavasoft need to fix their blog issues, because:
1) I can never view any of their images
2) Blog posts always go missing

Probably the main reason for dumping VIPRE is compatibility issues, however I agree that there are just too many AV's using BitDefender's engine and they all have their issues with high false positives.

It would be nice to see more AV's using Kaspersky or ESET.

AFAIK, none using ESET, only Zonealarm using Kaspersky, Baidu using Avira, UnThreat using Vipre, and many using Bitdefender.

it will be good to see if some more paid engines comes with free version antivirus, Kaspersky would be great, zonelalarm is good, but its toooooo heavy

Ad-Aware 11.0.4240.0 contains the following changes: [From Lavasoft Staff]

1.Text within Ad-Aware balloons is in the language selected within Ad-Aware program.
2.Polish, Hungarian and Portuguese languages are available.
3.Logic for Modify Setting option of Custom Scan has changed. Modify Settings link is removed, Custom Scan Settings can be accessed by clicking the Custom Scan button.
4.New Anti-spam engine.
5.Button “Delete All” in Quarantine table is available (Idea 22647)
6.Service initialization during installation process (within Ad-Aware Updater dialog box)
7.Definitions downloading during installation process (within Ad-Aware Updater dialog box)
8.Quick scan during installation process (within Ad-Aware Updater dialog box)
9.HIPS (Host Intrusion Prevention System)
10.Balloon “Scan complete” will not appear. It is removed.
11.User guide can be accessed by clicking the question sign on the floating panel (bottom of program window)

anyone here Beta testing Ad-aware?? please reply. is it true that it dumped Vipre engine, and taken Bitdefender engine?? please post CPU/RAM usage screenshot of Beta 11

I don't mind trying this out on Win 8 64-bit. Posting screenshots as soon as installed and reboot PC, including installation screens and settings.

Other info:
- Express installation was chosen.
- Active Web Protection screen was unchecked and Skipped. [#4]
- FF and IE Toolbar was not installed.
- Extension for Chrome was denied to run. No extensions visible in IE, except Search Engine 'Blekko - Spam-free search'.
- adawarebp.exe and SearchProtection.exe (Yahoo Toolbar related) [#16] and [#18]

- IObit Uninstaller shows what was installed. [#20]

- During Quick Scan, RAM increased to 133,000K (Private Working Set, Windows Task Manager) and CPU usaged no more than 10%. Scan was cancelled.

- Confirmed: Lavasoft uses the Bitdefender engine. [#17]

BTW, memory consumption is comparatively same with other Bitdefender engine or comsumes more RAM/CPU??
