The following was added to Forum Rules. If you have any questions about the rules, please contact a staff member for clarification. This thread will temporarily remain open so you can post questions as well.

Rule Categories

The following list indicates the warning types, warning points and validity period for points given. When you reach 10 points you will receive a temporary ban. When you have received three temporary bans you will unfortunately be permanently banned.

  • CATEGORY 1: You will first receive at least one VERBAL WARNING. Further breaking the rules in this category will result in WARN POINTS= 1, VALIDITY PERIOD 10 DAYS
    • Off-topic posts, multiple posting, improper spelling and punctuation, meaningless posts, use of excessive formatting.
  • CATEGORY 2: WARN POINTS= 3, VALIDITY PERIOD 20 DAYS, INABILITY TO POST FOR 5 DAYS
    • Rude behavior towards other members of this forum or members belonging to other communities, posting content from external sources without proper credits.
  • CATEGORY 3 (WARN POINTS= 5, VALIDITY PERIOD 30 DAYS, INABILITY TO POST FOR 10 DAYS)
    • Trolling, flaming, harassment, warez.
  • CATEGORY 4: PERMANENT BAN - NO WARNING:
    • Multiple accounts, threats, spamming, pornography, violence, racism, inappropriate language.

Notes:

Spelling and punctuation:

We understand that English is not the first language of all our members, in some rare cases we are willing to make some exceptions but we want you to do your best:
  • Use the "spell check" feature built into every browser.
  • Do not insert extra letters or punctuation marks and do not use "1337 speak".
  • Do not insert a new line after every word - what you post appears on a forum, not inside a chat-room.
  • No excessive quoting (it makes threads harder to read, especially on mobile devices):
    • There is no point in quoting the previous message.
    • If you can, edit out irrelevant lines from the quoted message.
  • Do not use italics, bold, all-caps, color or font size formatting unless it is really needed.

Trolling / flaming:

Such behavior will not be tolerated on our forum:

  • Flooding the forum with comments arising from a single point of view in every post.
  • Deliberately posting comments designed to start a "flame war" or to cause difficulty for our staff.
  • Continuously posting personal comments about other members and making posts with a disruptive effect on our community.
  • Continuously posting unwarranted criticism of Moderators and their decisions.

We believe that this behavior serves no purpose other than to show disrespect to other members and to the forum itself. You are free to disagree with someone but keep in mind that you may "attack the post, but not the poster". Treat other members with the same level of respect you expect in return.

Oh great.......................More rules. IE 9 does not have spell check built in by default but you can use Speckie. Feels more like a Nazi concentration camp them a forum. This is the only forum around with a million and a half rules. Let people speak there minds as long as no one is swearing at each other. Life is full of negativity and evil. Without evil there would not be good. Without negative there would not be positive. Without debates there would not be democracy.

Unfortunately, the actions of some users have made us institute more rules.

We're trying to make this an enjoyable place for everyone, yet some members seem to enjoy making it a less enjoyable place for others. Hence the rules to keep things civil around here.

There is nothing wrong with debates, but when the debate consists of debasing other users, that is no longer a debate. You can disagree with someone and still be respectful of their views.

If you don't like the rules, you're more than welcome to go elsewhere...

Show me another forum with rules such as this. You wont find one. More rules will not make a better forum. It will just turn people away. Why dont we all just wear uniforms while wecare at it.

I thought you would have liked more rules Dieselman :) More of them to quote at people when they misbehave.

Don't need more rules. Just more well rounded members. People bring misbehavior on themselves. Remember its you who controls the typing. Nobody is forcing you.

Dieselman, having rules is something we all live by everyday and the rules in here are no different. As a private forum we are allowed to have rules.

Note to everyone replying in this thread: You can post questions in here if you have them, these rules aren't opened for debate.

Saying "thanks" is also nice. :D I appreciate it.

Rules and laws are what we live by. This is not like we are driving down the road following signs. This is a forum for crying out loud. Again I will say..............Show me a forum that has this many rules. More rules will not stop immature posting and name calling. Too much news. Now too many rules. Whats next. We get a $100 fine for not crossing are "t's" and dotting are "i's".

I had less rules getting my pistol permit. Wait I got it..............Why dont we all go threw a full body scanner. Would that make it nicer around here?

I am also free to speak my as long as I am within the rules. If you do not want to hear comments then lock the thread. Thank you. I signed up here cause it was (as in past tense) a great place. But now that all the riffraff has spread over like the plague and its all going downhill. Your trying to save a sinking ship by implementing more rules but you are not concentrating on the big picture at hand.
