It has been stated by a member of this forum that “half of us use AI in our posts and it is made clear by the artefacts we do not remove”. The topic was closed (probably per the user request) so they can have the last word.

So my comment on my AI usage:

In my reviews: such as the McAfee review AI was not used neither to help with analysis, nor to generate or correct generated text.
The only purpose of AI (Google Gemini) was to convert a messy JSON file to a presentable table, something which would have required me to write a custom parser or copy/paste manually.

In my day to day posts: AI is not used in any way, including but not limited to copying members responses and pasting them on LLMs so I can “one-up” them and show “how much better I am then them”.

In my projects: such as the Orion Malware Cleaner and Analyse It! (both of them getting renamed to HEAP and HEAT) AI is used to allow me to accelerate the development and check for errors, as well as to scan for critical logical flaws which could be fatal. This is now a standard in development, specially in development that is “one-man-show”.
The logics, the heuristics, the UI (down to the smallest detail like the animations of the modals) is custom and not the result of AI.
AI is used to make texts look professional to the user.

In summary, I would like to point out once more and re-iterate that my usage of Google Gemini is responsible and not for me to “one-up” users or pretend to be something I am not!

I’ve done my fair share of hard work to create engaging content for MalwareTips community and I’ve done it long before ChatGPT was a thing.
Various threads of mine have been hot and trending for weeks not once or twice, unlike other members that are here for very different reasons. From their 15th account.

Any idiot can troll a forum using A.I. thinking they sound intelligent or smart. In the end It's just garbage slop that devalues the forum and makes people not want to be here. No one knows everything, it's OK to know that and admit you don't know it all but you can still contribute to this forum with your skills and knowledge with out polluting threads with A.I.

Trident, I've never really thought of your ideas and tool development as anything more than being cleaned up or organized with the help of AI, and not copied and pasted replies to threads verbatim, AI posts with bullet points and underlined topics as I've seen in the past by member #15. At least you're creating and developing useful tools we can benefit from. A majority of your posts have been personal, so for you to use AI in helping with the development, organizing process etc., I have no problem with that.

There's sometimes i have noticed during certain discussions, a fine line between rambling on with the help of Ai and being not only human but drawing on human expertise with decades of experience, that, stretching back to Windows 98SE onward. During those years it was always communication with either a talented freelance OR professional developer engaging in meaningful discussion, and that communication gives some of us WHO CAN MAKE OUT THE DIFFERENCES, a leg up on who OR WHAT CONTENT is thrusting responses courtesy Ai that they could never achieve on their own ABILITY.

In the near future we will add a Bot that will analyze posts and search for AI content, if found the post will be marked as AI generated content (%). It will analize how much of the post is created using AI content (eg ⚠️ This post was partially generated using Artificial Intelligence (49%) and may contain automated content. Please verify any critical information independently.)

The AI content is a problem for every platform. YouTube, Tiktok, Reddit, Facebook and many others are overwhelmed by automated posts and videos.

You'll never have to worry about that with me, but I should probably use AI, or at least Grammarly more often for my at times poor sentence structure, or poor choice of words. For me, wait 3-4 minutes if you're going to reply to one of my posts so I can edit it one or two times...LOL :)

I feel you. I still notice myself looking for a balance between being colloquial, avoiding classic mistakes in more dignified writing, and not lingering too long on a post. lol

@Jack, I'm curious to know if @Bot can analyze, for example, a list of filters like this one using the internet:

https://urlhaus.abuse.ch/downloads/text_online/

Because usually ChatGPT can only tell you how you can perform this task.

I prefer genuine conversations and experiences for help or on any topic. If I want AI knowledge, I use the AI section here and other AI services. I only use AI to help with advanced system configurations; I talk to the AI here and confirm with another. My English isn't perfect, but it's okay, I believe. I sometimes use the QuillBot website for grammar checking, especially when I want to express my thoughts clearly. If it finds errors, and if I agree with it, I edit them; I don't rephrase, as I like to keep my tone and style.

I use Google Translate for my posts and have noticed that it sometimes alters the sentence structure of my posts in English. So I also use AI. I always hope that Google's AI doesn't change my posts to the opposite.:)

As i remember you mentioned this before but I have neve found your posts to be anything other than honest & informative.

The problem for me is not the AI, the problems are the following usages of it:

-Forcing opponents to argue with AI, continuously using AI for every post. This shows that the person needs to get a job. And a life.
-Asking AI to analyse the intention of the post. This is just creepy.
-Copy/pasting from AI things one doesn’t even understand in an attempt to show “Look at me, I am so smart”. This is a sign of personal issues, amongst which inferiority complex.

@Jack

Make sure to add salting to this Jack as many use it and adjust words AI that it will pass thresholds if scanned for AI. Personally I'm tired of these direct attacks and gang up mentality and jump in the band wagon crap since most of the do use AI, including you. How about we worry more about enforcing rules for all members evenly and fairly. There are not that many rules yet they are continuously broken and allowed. These are here for a purpose correct? One member that started this thread breaks them all the time and thinks he is above everyone. (I stated it this way because it's how he likes to stir troubles for others). I'm tired of this back and forth it's rediculous. Enforce the rules evenly for everyone and ALL this crap will stop.

P.s. I do not see anything in these rules about using AI to format posts.

1. Respect other members. Treat others with kindness and respect, and avoid personal attacks or insults.

2. No spam or self-promotion. Do not post spam, self-promotional content, or irrelevant links.

3. No illegal or malicious content. Do not post or link to illegal or malicious content, including software cracks, malware, or phishing scams.

4. No piracy. Do not request or share pirated software or content.

5. Stay on topic. Keep discussions relevant to the forum in which they are posted.
