Android doubt!

Hi all
I have a samsung android phone.I have internet connection in my Laptop.So I don't want to put internet connection in my phone.So I would like to connect internet in my phone through laptop.But I found that android can't be made to do like that.Solutions please

Note:
My friend told me that there is a software called connectify which will make my laptop as a wifi hotspot!Is that true?

I know the Android App has a free version but I am not sure about the Windows version.

I use PdaNet to tether my Laptop when I have no wifi available.This is to run my laptop on my phones internet connection though.They have a free version but with limitations the pay version allows connections to secure sites without limitations.

I have never used connectify but I know it is pretty popular.I couldnt tell you if there is a difference in free vs. Pay.If you google "Connectify for Windows Downloads" you can find some safe sites to download the program from also.

I use PdaNet quite frequently so for me the pay version is well worth the price.If you go to the Connectify links you can find out more.I know there are probably more programs like this but Connectify seems to be the one that most people use

I know with a HTC you can use Wireless hot spots.
