I noticed something very strange today while I went to Microsoft's website while viewing defends updates. When I looked at what the update contained it said that "no threat detections have been added" why is Microsoft pushing updates with no definitions being added?
Anyone else notice windows defender is updating 6 times every day?

I've checked my update history on Windows Defender and its updating once per day according to my history.

By default it checks for update once a day but they release updates multiple times in a day.
I force the updates by using Settings app , they average 4-5 per day, more or less.

If checking the official release notes, for today December the second 2019 it already updated 8 times.

Yes i'm fully aware that most detections are detected by they're cloud based protection it's still nice to have both cloud and signatures although nothing is 100% im still very happy with WD. The best part about the program is no annoying advertisements.

When updates say "no threat detections have been added," I think it's mostly to remove false positives.
