Apple has just taken the wraps off the iPhone 16E, the company’s new entry-level iPhone that uses the same design as the iPhone 14 except for a new USB-C charging port and a 48MP 2-in-1 rear camera system. Under the hood, the iPhone 16E uses the same A18 chip as the iPhone 16 series, but it’s the first iPhone to ship with Apple’s new C1 cellular modem.

“iPhone 16e packs in the features our users love about the iPhone 16 lineup, including breakthrough battery life, fast performance powered by the latest-generation A18 chip, an innovative 2-in-1 camera system, and Apple Intelligence,” said Kaiann Drance, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing. “We’re so excited for iPhone 16e to complete the lineup as a powerful, more affordable option to bring the iPhone experience to even more people.”

Just like the iPhone 14, the iPhone 16E comes with a 6.1-inch OLED display with a notch hiding the Face ID sensor and front-facing camera instead of Apple’s more subtle Dynamic Island system. There’s also a new customizable Action button on the side, but no Camera Control button like on the iPhone 16 series. The iPhone 16E also uses USB-C for charging, which is now mandatory for all phones sold in the EU.

Android hardware is OK, but the OS and apps are not. Limited period of security updates makes Android a bad deal. I have an iPhone 6 that is 10+ years old and still it receives security updates from Apple.
new androids from 2021 are getting 4 to 7 years of updates and monthly security updates. just look at samsung series A phones . this was for the past, now there are much less benefit in apple ecosystems

Google pixel devices gets 7-8years of OS update and security updates what was your last android devices? Google and samsung is way ahead in AI, battery and cameras.

yeah good choice for mothers fathers or anyone who does not care and does not need somethings like 120Hz display and stuff. my family is in android ecosystem if they were in apples in would choose this for my mom dad and my sister too
The crash detection feature is why I'm getting it for her it can be life saving and has saved lives! This is more phone than a 65 year old is going to use.

iOS is more secure too especially during the boot process but even everything from kernel to many memory mitigations from both hardware and software level they have added and made certain apis more restrictive (I think apple calls some of them kits ) have forced me to purchase an Android as iOS jailbreaking is dead
But I would say iOS is definitely the most secure mobile operating system and second is graphene os on a pixel (hardened android)

Vivo is the king of camera (Samsung tier computation, better sensors then all )
About pixel no they use worse sensors over iphone and pretty sure worse lens too
About Samsung yes it has better sensors then iphone but doesn't necessarily take always the best photography as iphone is the king for photography computation on mobile

about battery both Samsung and apple are going to use silicon carbon that my vivo has (higher density, charging, cold tolerance etc)
About updates only pixel and apple have fast enough updates every device that isn't a pixel I have owned has had at least a week of delay and usually more in getting lastest monthly security updates but that wouldn't be the worst security flaw rather all the os , kernel level changes they make against security over a pixel

Basically every device has pros and cons and only two mobile companies (apple , google ) gives the security every device needs in a modern age

They do even my cheap Redmi gets monthly updates but it's delayed over pixels but you still get them each month

I use Chinese phones they are great except security part
But eh that doesn't stop me from buying Chinese models off AliExpress and debloating them making em usable
The main thing I usually care for is a good system on chip like 9400 or any flagship soc

Waste of money..a 60Hz display in 2025 with that price, USB2.0 NOT EVEN 3???🤣
Better invest in Android.
Iphones used to have better sensors years ago better displays far more stable os , actual strong system on chip
But nowadays Androids are actually getting competitive and as a long iphone user I can say nowadays the main advantage of iphone is security from face id to the os , low level boot etc
But everything else is between close , equal , superior to iphone and at a better cost

A much more advantageous choice if it has to be an iPhone, e.g. because people in the family have an iPhone or simplicity of use will be iPhone 15, the surcharge is minimal and yet 2 cameras, MagSafe

If it can be an Android phone, I recommend Google Pixel (e.g. wait several days for the 9a variant - it will offer 7 years of updates)

Apple puts SOCs that can technically do thunderbolt if they wanted so they could have designed it to connect to your mac enhancing performance but shame they don't as iphones have insane potential and the lack of innovation at apple that stagnated mostly after Steve jobs has allows android to become competitive even though android devices themselves don't innovative a lot either

Google can get great pricing and make a 1+ high performance cores 6+ performance cores then stack 2 or more space efficient cores into Samsung cheap nodes(obviously large npu etc ) and actually get something competitive with iphone A series chips
The hardware of google is the main disadvantage of the pixel
Generally I think iphone is a better simple to use secure device to recommend to others and is superior to a pixel currently in everything from battery life performance etc so probably everyone who cares about security should just get an iphone

It's a binned a18 with at least one less gpu core
But shouldn't impact majority of users anyway I think apple did overprice it considering it's their budget option but they have enough customers willing to pay that price and I personally got myself an Android

If your like me and all you use your phone for is texts, checking emails, some pictures and occasionally looking up something on the web than why would you care about which system is most secure? I don't do any shopping or banking on my phone. And its not attached to my hand 24/7, 99% of the time it just sits on my coffee table. And by the way my last 2 phones were Pixel's.

Well I don't care enough that's why I use a Chinese device
but you should know the attack surface of phones is insane just ask Hezbollah how easily idf hacked their iphones
But generally it's mainly ATP threats that will bypass the layers of security of a phone and not some random Nigerian prince
So to protect against a Nigerian prince even an Android will be enough to sandbox an attacker so everything he can do is pretty much only pishing
