It is advised to take all reviews with a grain of salt. In extreme cases some reviews use dramatization for entertainment purposes.

ArcaBit is a Polish antivirus that is little-known internationally, but quite well-known in its home country. There is a Polish-language version of the product called Mks_Vir.

The product is based on the Bitdefender engine, but the publisher (for some unknown reason) renames the detections by their names.
It also has its own shields, such as RoundKick, which is an EDR.
Let's see how ArcaBit fares.

Interface :

The interface is very simple, as it has been the same since 2021.
The publisher hasn't changed it and seems to be stagnating on this position, potentially to avoid disorienting its users.
I'd also like to activate application control to increase protection.

Power consumption: It's about average, with around 500MB of RAM.

Web protection: 7/8
ArcaBit lets malware through and 2 of them die.
It blocks the rest

Fake crack : 1/1
Blocked

Malware Pack : Remaining 33 threats out of 109
ArcaBit's detection performance is clearly average, as it only uses Bitdefender's SDK and has no advanced scanner.
But the bad news doesn't stop there, as ArcaBit's other shields are clearly useless!
RoundKick is clearly unresponsive, as is application control.
I had to stop the test prematurely, as the machine was clearly unusable, the scripts disrupted the test and became active again after rebooting.

Final scan : N/A - PC corrupted !

Final opinion:

ArcaBit remains an antivirus in the background, contenting itself with a database supplied by its partner (even if it renames the definitions) and not evolving over time.
In my opinion, its advanced protection is lacking, as it didn't try to block the attacks I made and let the machine become unusable.
Not recommended.

ArcaBit/Mk_Vir is still alive? I thought they went finally Kaput in 2018? They had a shady history, with Mk_Vir employees starting Arcabit and then 2 years later Mk_Vir filing for bankruptcy then Arcabit distributing Mk_Vir etc etcetc.

It looks like a one person project that's basically a GUI remake of the lowest version of BD engine.

Very ugly GUI in fact, only the new K7 GUI can be compared to this.
