Erm Symantec hasn’t got memory scanning. They have access to script interpreters memory through the AMSI, but not proper scanning like Trend Micro, CrowdStrike and so on.
Ah, I see. Wrong interpretation from my part. It can do that via AMSI and when a scan (like quick/full scan) is performed but not real-time memory scanning capability.

Avast AVG and Avira are the most downloaded Free AV. See softpedia.com
BD and the rest does not come close.

They have one of the largest Malware Database in their arsenal because of the mergers and acquisitions.
True. But it’s not about the security pool, it’s about what you do with the pool to predict threats. Fortunately, there are more than 500 data scientists working at Gen, constantly implementing and perfecting AI algorithms. McAfee GTI and Check Point Threat Cloud are the 2 biggest (Check Point being first and serving more requests daily than Google).

True, but these downloads are cumulative, not monthly or weekly downloads, and Gen D A3 (Avast AVG and Avira) always had free versions, so most users used one of them if not all of them in the past while BD free version is new compared to A3.

I find it funny that despite Norton buying Avast/AVG they basically abandoned their own engine and just used the Avast engine.

It's like how in the 90s, Boeing bought McDonnell Douglas, but let MD take control of the company. And look how that ended up, lol. Any plane nerds here will know exactly what I'm talking about.
Who would have thought that leaving the control of the company on the hands of bean counter rather than engineers was detrimental to technological advancement?!!?! Shocking I tell you!

As a side note I just got the message from this site to Train Staff on Phishing every month. Do they have to be a staff operating trains or can others participate?
