Hi all

Avast Free Antivirus NEW: Beta version released - 2016.12.1.2263

Changes:

+ New scan API for browsing
+ Removed NG (VHardware virtualization) - moved the technology to cloud, in next betas we will introduce new flow for handling unknown files
+ Removed Stats - Under redesign, will be returned later
+ Antispam module is now optional, not installed by default
+ Remote assistance removed for good
+ Fixed problems with Avast Account
+ Fixed issues with slow loading pages in SafeZone browser
+ Fixed creation of Rescue Disc

Known issues:

- Data Shredder UI doesn't work correctly
- SafeZone browser - Pay Mode does not work (will be fixed in next beta)
- Network threats (HNS) - affected devices are sometimes incorrectly displayed in Smart Scan results
- User interface might freeze after inserting a license

After reading the changes, the "Removed NG (VHardware virtualization) - moved the technology to cloud, in next betas we will introduce new flow for handling unknown files" sounds interesting. I know they had issues with NG (Windows 10 and some Windows 8 and 8.1).

They need to work more on the Suspicious Behavior (HIPS), some malware can bypass it.

Looks like some of complaining in the forums have worked users are not going to go though an application to "Tick settings" and with some instances thats what you had with do with NG. Glad they are moving everything to the cloud this is what they should have done in the first place.

Avast should follow the concept like ESET, because all of the techniques are already combined and rely on the HIPS as Plan B. ;)

So Avast needs to improve more on Cloud and their HIPS based.
