I think this is normal, did you check the Streaming Updates?

Same issue here.
I have seen this happen before in the past so i'm not worried.

I've seen such things as well when I used Avast, no problems, it will work well soon. It seldom happens, so you are lucky to notice that. :)

Remember that during weekends, updates are not delivered (except for streaming or pulse updates) which already common to all Antivirus product out there. ;)

People should also deserve a good break against an endless battle of threats. ;)

From what I've read on their forum, Avast has become complete crap!
Not at all.It is doing very well.

As Captain Awesome has said...

There is no need to worry as long as you are receiving streaming updates.

All VPS updates are consolidated of streaming updates.

A lot of long-term Avast users have left, as the product has declined.

I'd have to disagree with that.

I wouldn't say that the product has declined but most free users who have been annoyed with the ads may have left. Avast still has a lot of potential (some of the protection features are not really performing well yet) but will do in the future. On top of this, when Avast merges with AVG in the next major release of Avast, there would most likely be components of AVG coming into Avast that will further improve detection and signatures.

This is true for ALL products and services, it should be no surprise.

Updates are delivered automatically 24/7, by a computer. Not a human.

The only important thing is "Last update received" entry. These are micro updates (Pulse Updates) delivered to users every ~3 minutes. These are the most important protection along with direct cloud features.

The standard VPS are just cumulative updates released daily for those who prefer not to use streaming updates.
