Seems like an update early 2024 caused issues with Firefox and Lightroom.

Lightroom 13.4:
startup/loading was up to at least 2 minutes at times.
took around 5 mins or more before I could switch between pictures.
Upload, export was slower.

Firefox: it was at least 127 and earlier.
Slow to load
slow down, almost useless at times

Solution was switching to different AV. No problems with slow downs since.
I don't know if the issues have been fixed, but I've reported it to AVG.

Thanks for reporting the issue. AVG team is likely working on it. Meanwhile, you can try disabling AVG temporarily to see if it improves the performance of Firefox and Lightroom. Remember to re-enable it after testing.

Early 2024, what month was that? AVG did have a program update on July 25th to version 24.7.9311.855 (free version) so I don't know if that made, or would make a difference or not?

Norton and AVG belong to the same company, which is Gen Digital, do you really feel the difference because mostly they will have the same engine sooner if not yet?
I know. For now it's fast. AVG became unbearable. If the same thing happens to Norton I will have to uninstall it and use something else. But so far it's been great. But the software design is weird. As there's My Norton, and there is Norton 360. But In Norton 360, you can select classic in the left lower corner, and this will launch the classic mode instead of My Norton.
A con I see AntiSpam can't be integrated to Thunderbird.I don't see any option to do it, which is silly. They need to work on that ASAP.

I'm testing Norton 360 now and as you mentioned it is fast and reliable. The software design is wired because it is a new one, and I think they are working on it.

But Norton and Thunderbird have been around for years, why would they not have already included Thunderbird? Was it ever a part of the previous versions?
