F-Secure and other vendors have some alternatives, no need to go back to Bitdefender, Kaspersky SDK is one good option for example (and a very good one).
Unlikely for F-Secure to go back to Kaspersky. 12+ years of loyalty does not break without good reasons.

They can try the next best option ---> Dr. Web.

BUT....I think the SDKs will continue.

Kaspersky in the past was offering a very old SDK for its partners and it was somewhat expensive and heavy on system performance, thats why F-Secure abandoned it, but things seems to be different now.

IMO Dr. Web isnt that good and I dont know if they have a SDK offering, at least Bitdefender is solid and "battle tested".

NortonLifeLock Acquires Avira for $360M

The all-cash transaction is expected to broaden NortonLifeLock's international presence and bring a freemium business model into its portfolio.

NortonLifeLock has confirmed plans to acquire German antivirus provider Avira from Investcorp Technology Partners for $360 million in cash, the companies announced today. Investcorp bought Avira in April 2020 for $180 million; this deal essentially doubles the company's value.

One important news regarding Avira is that they have stopped their business line-up and also stopped offering their products to their partners.

I believe the main reason is that GData in specific has taken over many of their business customers and also the private ones.

It is really sad because Avira's signatures are really good. I wish the two German companies were cooperating with each other as both GDATA and Avira have many positive points and they can complete each other.

I wanted to renew my Avira but now I am doubting if I go with G DATA or not.

I you have the time, I wouldn't renew Avira right now, but wait to see what will happen.
You can always try a trial of GData.
