App Review Avira Pro 2017 - Review

Avira needs to participate in Malware Hub to verify its efficacy
Indeed, it would be very good to see Avira participating in MH. Thanks for your time reviewing Avira Pro @Evjl's Rain The question still remains - where is the Aviras "Behaviour Blocker" ? :D (Trying hard myself in VM for it to show up, but one thing is very annoying, "Luke Filewalkers" scan (for left-overs i guess?) after every file detection freezes up VM for few seconds.)

Thx for testing!
The cloud is great ;)

And yes hopefully is someone wanting to test Avira for malware vault ;)

The behavior blocker doenst actually have a warning itself you can see it if its in quarantine Suspicous file ;)

ALso the cloud has some sort of behavior blocker but idk if you can name it BB if its in the cloud ;)

I will post a bonus malwarehub test result of avira later as soon as I get home

I did the test but I haven't done second opinion scans yet.

spoiler: very impressive result from the cloud as it blocked almost all undetected samples by the context scan

so after this test and the upcoming hub test I did, I have 2 questions:
- does avira free have the same cloud feature as pro or it has a worse cloud feature? I saw nothing from malwareblocker's video about avira free
- what about other anti-ransomware and behavior blocker features? I may have to disable the cloud if I can to test other modules but I don't have much time :(

Really a good result, considering that you have used the default settings. I wonder how would the results by setting high heuristics?

Note Avira has setting for heuristics in
Scanner on demand,
Realtime protection,
Web protection,
Mail protection,
Thats what i know ;)

It should have the cloud module but i also didnt see it in malware blocker vid...

Yes it has also more Anti ransomware modules But the cloud is the best one ;)

Hopefully now people see that Avira is one of the best :)

the only way to find out if avira has extra stuffs or just simply has signatures, heuristics and cloud, is to disable the cloud and test. Hopefully it can block something. Otherwise, it's not really good against zero-day malwares

I think it will just be slightly better but in an exchange of system performance. Last time I used high heuristics, my laptop was laggy and slow. Medium heuristics was good enough

Hello, please test Kaspersky ( Behavior blocker ).
I did it already

One thing I've noticed is that, Avira Pro uses insane CPU resources, when you are downloading something. AntiVir WebGuard WFP service takes around 30-60% of CPU  when you are downloading stuff
exactly. Avira doesn't feel light when we get something malicious. It feel light when we perform daily tasks
