Background: Google Chrome may update several times in between every major release, for bug or security fixes.

Question: Will Emsisoft's Behavioural Guard always prompt me upon every (minor and major) Chrome update? Or for that matter any MD5/SHA-1 changes of a trusted program?

@Huracan :

Based on my personal experience; if you encountered an alert as you posted, then expect a similar alerts every time due to application rule comparison algorithm.

Monitor this application, but allow/block specific activities - Use this option to define exactly what activity is allowed or blocked for program X. The separate protection components below can be individually set to either [All allowed] or [Custom monitoring]/[Custom rules] for program X.

The option Don't alert when this file changes should only be enabled if you are sure that the file cannot be manipulated or changed. Otherwise this setting should remain deactivated.

Yes. BB always monitor ur system.If ur application previous rule is changed like when u update it, BB will give user alert & will ask a confirmation to allow it or not. This is handy incase malware modifies something in application rule u will revert it back.

We are currently changing the way the update of rules work. Essentially, if the rule that would be created automatically for the new version of the application would be the same as the rule for the old version of the application, we will skip the dialog.

Thats nice to know Fabian :)

I have a 1 year license so i can test it out.

And the latest BB/Heuristics results for Emsisoft are also good, alot user dependent but the test was offline
so it couldnt get the help of the Anti-Malware Network.
