Yes thanks again I'm using it alongside ESET.

How can I configure it on my desktop? I'm using broadband connection. Should I configure it in browser settings or ethernet settings? I've free NextDNS account.

You can use it in a web browser or with a dedicated application. In both cases, you need the configuration ID, which can be found on the NextDNS website.

2. Find the Configuration ID

For the desktop application, use the download link from @silversurfer's post and insert the Configuration ID when installing the application.

For Edge, use Settings and paste the Next DNS DOH with your Configuration ID:

Finally, navigate to your account on the NextDNS website and activate advanced features in the Security tab:

Thank you so much 😊

What happened when you used an AV on a Mac? I am surprised something went wrong, macOS is pretty locked down compared to windows, so there is less chance of things breaking.
that was a long time ago... on a macbook pro IIRC. Probably 10++ years ago. chewed it up, uninstallable. I don't recall why I did not wipe the hdd and reinstall whatever Apple was calling their OS way back then. Did Apple have Stores back then? if so nowhere near me. I'm guessing the Apple was out of warranty, and AV support clueless.

You can buy a cheap avg Ultimate license for 3 years for $20 uses same engine as norton and avast then pair it with ospray browser protection and if you really want to lock down a pc Hardened mode is almost unbeatable. AVG ultimate does not display advertisements like their brothers norton and avast. I'm very happy with AVG and i know a few that i gave keys away to still enjoy AVG it is a very different product.

AVG uses scare-ware tactics across the UI, specially on SmartScan and other activities. This still classifies as ads. Furthermore, I am not sure why their parents will need all the software (some of it bordering with junkware) included with AVG Ultimate.

They got rid of those they dont display on mine at least.
Perhaps the ads/scare tactics shows up on the Free Version to give users the chance to go for paid?

Ultimate is paid so likely you don't get those Nick. Maybe come renewal those will show up, only time will tell.

AVG Ultimate is also a solid choice(10 users, 3 years-solid deal)

Ultimate is the only one that doesn’t display them because everything is already licensed. However AVG Ultimate launches quite a lot of processes (depending on what’s installed), it’s a lot of background activities and a lot of tools parents won’t use. I don’t see them running TuneUp and Wi-Fi inspector scans. Trend Micro and McAfee are much more down to business.

The AVG web protection on mobile devices is also far from amazing and not the same level like the Windows one.

AVG ultimate is modular. The Tuneup,VPN, Antitrack have the option not to be installed. The Ultimate will just be Internet Security.

I get what you meant, perhaps those Extras will just be a waste license considering the parents usage.
