Hi, I have just been getting a new desktop, santa was good to me :P

Anyway since I again have a new setup to get going I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on the best software to use for keeping online banking safe? I do a lot of banking online from transferring money, making payments and purchases. Just wanted to make sure I was as safe as can be by possibly putting some extra security into my chosen setup (which is to be confirmed once I know what is best for online banking?

Thanks,

Luke

In fact apologies for this post. Once I made the post it showed me other peoples banking questions too. I did use the search feature but obviously not correctly lol. I'll just post via security setup when updated :D

Are you looking for a paid or free product?
Paid: I have recently tried Kaspersky Internet Security (with a free 90 days trial) which has a great banking feature. - http://support.kaspersky.com/8056#whatis
Avast has also a very good Banking feature - https://support.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=1185

Free: I'm currently trying out Comodo Internet Security, a free suite that has recently added a new feature called Virtual Kiosk and is allowing you to do your transactions in a safe enviroment - http://help.comodo.com/topic-72-1-451-4738-The--Virtual-Kiosk.html

In addition, if you are a Firefox user, you can also use KeyScrambler Personal - http://www.qfxsoftware.com/download.htm , a program that will encrypt all your keys , protecting you from keyloggers and other threats.

Keyscrambler (free, Pro, Premium) is the best banking tool , even if you have hundreds of keyloggers in your machine, it encrypt your keystrokes so the leaked datas will be unreadable by the attacker.

I do my banking online and use Kis2013 on Windows 7 as Jack said it has some great features.

It has Safe Pay which is a secure brower within Kis to make your transactions and also has a Virtual Keyboard

I use CIS on Windows 8 and it also has great Online transaction protection features and best of all its free

Indeed, whenever I loaded any "banking" sites or online stores , KIS 2013 detected these sites and asked me if I want to activate the Safe Money feature....so its very user friendly.

You could use a variety of tools & resources, without any hassle or expense.

Prevent Man-in-the-Middle attacks with Trusteer Rapport AS recommended by Financial Institutes (ie. Banks)
http://www.trusteer.com/Products/trusteer-rapport-pc-and-mac-security

Encrypt all (or most) your connections - HTTPS Everywhere
https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere

Prevent entering data in Phishing/Scams sites by checking against Website Advisor databases - Webutation , URLVoid
http://www.webutation.net/
http://www.urlvoid.com/

Make sure your PC is not infected with malware or unwanted software that could log your keystrokes or screen-capture your browsing habits.

Although there are Anti-Logger software out there to prevent any logging captures, no reason to use them if your PC is clean.

Remember - You don't need AV Security Suites that brag about their "Online Banking mode" to do Online Banking. It's just a selling tactic by those security vendors, an opportunity for new customers!

All the above product mention here are excellent but I have one question.

Should only banking done in Browser private mode
Should third party add-ons like htps everywhere, adblock webutation can be trusted during online banking.

I would add one more software in list which is as good as kis 2013.

Defensewall: Excellent protection, protect from keylogger ( I tried myself) and its have its own browser for online banking which is almost full proof (nothing is 100% of course :D )

Sandboxie is other good tool for online banking

will agree with Umbra Corp here
I have been using Key Scrambler Pro since about March 2011

Kis should be good enough as a paid suite. It has a automated keystroke encrypter which gets activated when you click sensitive feilds like card no, password or CVV code etc.
So that is why I dont use any other antilogger. Pretty confident with KIS.
