My top 4 (3) picks
  1. Happy user of Bitwarden in many years, but I'm trying out Proton Pass
  2. Ublock Origin < uBlock Origin Lite
  3. Ghostery < uBlock Origin Lite
  4. Malwarebytes Browser Guard < TrafficLight (Bitdefender)

  • I'm thinking about trying Proton Pass too.
  • About Ghostery he mentioned that it is for mobile devices not for desktops so you can ignore it.
  • TrafficLight (Bitdefender) is good and lighter but what makes Malwarebytes Browser Guard better that it has behavior analysis while TrafficLight use blacklists.

Malwarebytes can be a bit heavy on resources. The last year I find Trafficlight lacking behind some other free extensions.
I always have mixed results but trafficlight isn't bad at all although it holds pages and only uses a blacklist it does seem to have pretty good intelligence
Anyway would love to hear what extensions you have found to be better then trafficlight

Not sure what behavior analysis it does but when I tried it it missed a lot of pages in This Feed: aa419 - Fake Sites Database
Code:
https://db.aa419.org/fakebankslist.php
But in open pish it catched a good amount of pages but haven't seen it get as good results as other extensions that use less resources

If Malwarebytes was light I would have used it myself

My current top 5 is:
  1. McAfee Webadvisor
  2. Norton Safe web
  3. Malwarebytes
  4. Avira
  5. G data
(The sites I used are detected by a Palo Alto product).

Actually tried all of the above
From the 5 you mentioned
Macafee and Malwarebytes did best in my test
Anyway specifically G data I have only tested once as the results weren't good enough for me to keep testing it but I will retest myself

Btw it's awesome that you're using a good intelligence feed for the testing

Thing is macafee by default flags suspicious catagory and once I do the same in for example Symantec it gains more detections then macafee
But by default sometimes macafee catches more and sometimes Symantec anyway macafee is definitely a good extension

Btw if there is any free feeds you can recommend it will be awesome as a need better quality feeds

Norton extension is so underrated, it does some false positive but it's pretty good in detecting things that both malwarebytes and TrafficLight(I use them all) didn't
