I am a bit confused. Are you using Windows 7 or Vista? To check, right click on Computer and click on Properties.

Everyone seems to be using CIS Beta as opposed to the stable 5.10. I haven't tried the Beta yet and won't touch it until final is released but pairing with webroot pro should be ok, although you could get away easily with Webroot SecureAnywhere Antivirus or Complete on its own + Windows vista/7 builtin firewall.

For backup solution, you can use the built in windows backup solution or choose one of the following freewares: Paragon Backup and Recovery Free, EaseUS Todo Backup free or Macrium Reflect Free.

Although users who know what they are doing are fine running beta programs, it still doesn't change the fact that its in beta stage and it is not fully stable so do beware.

Other than that, nothing really to add apart from being careful not to get infections since you set as occasionally infected and medium risk to infections. My suggestion is go back to CIS 5.10 and follow Chiron's guide for maximum protection if you want.

You could also switch to AVG 2013 Antivirus Free since it does provide a decent protection and it can be paired up with Webroot as well.

I agree with Biozfear, especially if you dont know what Operating System you are using, you should not use CIS or any HIPS-like security softwares.

I think Biozfear has covered everything that needs to be covered.

You're not encouraging the use of Comodo? CIS 6 BETA - Default settings has no HIPS enabled.

Bionick, how did you hear about Comodo and why do you use it or who influenced you to try the BETA version?

And welcome :D

Guys Wait for his reply maybe he mistype the os. I think he is not that type of normal user we are thinking or at least he have not installed these softwares and i had not seen people who use 64 bit have less knowledge of computer.

I don't mean that 32 bit users are dumb as I myself is 32 bit user :D

Hi
If used correctly CIS can be a very powerful piece of software
if used incorrectly it can also be a very powerful piece of software
In it's most recent version (6 beta) it's promising to become even more user friendly - less pop ups etc
CIS has never been an install and forget solution but it seems to be going in that direction
if you have the default settings you are pretty well protected especially as judging by the new CIS 6 help guide limited sandbox restriction now seems to be default
https://help.comodo.com/topic-72-1-451-4685-Introduction-to-Comodo-Internet-Security.html
take time to read the help guide and get to know CIS, if your not sure ask, your in the right place ;) oh and the beta will not update itself to the next beta/RC version so keep an eye on Comodos forum
forgive me if I'm wrong but I assume your fairly new to security...
well I would say your further down the path then most peeps just by been here
so your ahead of the game ;)

Most of the things have been covered by Biozfear and treefrog. Though i would say switch to CIS 5 it's more stable you are more prone to encounter bugs in the Beta version, if you want you can pair it with Webroot SecureAnywhere AV as suggested by Biozfear but you don't really need it so you can skip that if you want to.
