Bitdefender 2014 released - Download

those package.exe which are sorted out in x86 and x64 messed with my system big time... heck it upgraded my BD to 2014 suite, my normal repair/uninstall process was messed up...
[1] had to use BD uninstall tool...
[2] then i downloaded directly from BD official website for the proper BD IS 2014 installer package, only then it was fixed...

but still thanx for the effort anyway...

As always, downloading from the main website is recommended. :biggrin:

Good example; Newest Firefox releases' installers sometimes get taken down due to bugs/vulnerabilities.

I have heard of Bitdefender photon. What is it's specific purpose and how does it function?

Does the facebook trial of BD Total Security 2013 work for the 2014 edition?
I really want to try this to see if Bitdefender's Proton feature really does improve the overall performance of BD itself.
I had a bad experience with 2013 because it slowed down my system dramatically, but their impressive detection rate (topping most AV tests) has made me want to give BD another chance.
 
Something I have noticed is - There doesn't seem to be as many updates coming through for version 2014, I've got a bit of an obsession where I manually check for updates pretty regularly and with 2013 it always downloaded something even if it was a tiny update, but with 2014 it hardly ever downloads anything when I hit update. Maybe it's just me.
 
I've just checked the update logs and I have an update at 08:42 and then I don't have another one until 12:27, That seems like a long time in between updates.

Edit to add: 3 hours in between updates can't be right, even Bdav free updates every hour.
 
Just had an update, but it was 3 hours between this update and the last. I'm not happy having updates 3 hours apart when the free version updates every hour.
