I was going to test on a VM but realized I only want AV and not all the extra fluff, I might still give it a test later and report back tho if nobody else does first

I've Total Security 2018, upgraded from TS 2018. So far didn't notice any slowness.

Yeah, I think you'll eventually find several, but I don't think these will come from Bitdefender. Therefore, those installers will be "at-your-own-risk".
