Hot Take Brave for Desktop Outperforms Other Browsers in Speed and Performance

I'm still trying to figure out why is Firefox way faster than Brave on my laptop, despite getting lower results in those web benchmark tests.

But can you see it with your eyes??

Let alone it's an "officially" supported browser by F-Secure. I really haven't missed Brave to the point of ditching or wanting to quit using Firefox. On Windows, it is my default browser.

I switched from Firefox to Brave because I could definteily see that Firefox, for me, was really slow in opening some sites.

I just wish Brave was supported by FSecure, only issue I have with Brave at the monent.

I can! This is how I came to conclusion it's faster for me (and seeing the rendering times in the console proved it). I don't trust benchmarks at all as they can be rigged. I trust my feelings more.

Feelings wise, Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Yandex are tier A in speed; Vivaldi, Firefox, and Opera are tier B.

There is a difference between government contacted projects and general software. The U.S. has Google and Meta, two of the biggest data mining companies, and the biggest privacy threats to ever exist yes billions of people use them both every day. Why? There's no viable alternative.

This is because Brave Browser is so private that it doesn't allow your antivirus software to see your search results at all.

I prefer to hand ny data off to the Western rather than the Eastern side; in return get a more stable app with less bugs.
I bet Catxp has more bugs than Brave already has.

I did not try Catxp before, but I have read some Redditors reporting more bugs compared to Brave.
Does not worth the effort; I tunr off Brave's extras after install in a couple of minutes.

Only Yandex has a peculiar feature; a side-bare toggle to turn off dark mode per website when it makes it looks unreadable, just as Opera but in Opera it is in a context menu.

I heard that if you installed the Chrome extension in Brave to use for Safe Banking that it doesn't work properly at times.

I don't know, or have had a problem on my end, but with millions? of users and some who may be using Brave, could have? Otherwise, a site can be added into Banking protection. I only have one tab open when I'm banking, just to be surer and safer, no matter what browser I'm using or what Adrian S. test results were

Beyond the Brave team's test, keep in mind that your browsing speed will be directly proportional to the filter lists you've subscribed to in Brave Ad-Shields.

I observed that only FF is on x64 while the rest are running on ARM. Power wise, ARM will just sip energy.

Did anyone really expected Brave to do an independent and objective test? This test wasn't being done to show us all which browser is the best; it was done for marketing reasons. Otherwise they'd pay independent company to do it.

In fact, this test is literally a race between car and car without a fuel. Not only because they used outdated version of Firefox, but they also used an ad blocker in Brave. Of course that a web browser which blocks half of requests loads websites faster and is more power efficient.

The only valid test would be Brave + Brave Shields and Firefox + uBlock Origin, using equal settings and filter lists. Or test with ad blocking disabled in both of them.

You can always change browser.sessionstore.interval string in about:config and Firefox will write less data to SSD.

If your question is about Brave Browser, yes, it is fixed now. The issue likely stemmed from the previous Shields implementation, but since the team rebuilt it in Rust, everything has improved.
