remove that google crap, then surf like a man with Firefox :D. Uninstal chrome with this -http://www.geekuninstaller.com/geek.zip,
it will clean all leftover folders, registry..etc.. and hopefully any traces of that extension thing... Then reboot PC and install firefox  or chrome  again.. VOILÀ

If you are loged in to your Google Chrome using your Google Account Log out that one and run this Fix again.

STEP 1: Run the below OTL fix
  1. Start OTL.exe
  2. Copy/paste the following text written inside of the code box into the Custom Scans/Fixes box located at the bottom of OTL

    Code:
    :OTL
    :OTL
CHR - plugin: Error reading preferences file
    CHR - Extension: Savings Wizard = C:\Users\Jamie\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions\ajakpekbmnkgnjbpajgkdhimcbeoocam\1.0_0\
    [2014/01/20 20:39:14 | 000,940,775 | ---- | M] () (No name found) -- C:\Users\Jamie\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\3slkmx03.default\extensions\{d10d0bf8-f5b5-c8b4-a8b2-2b9879e08c5d}.xpi

    :commands
    [emptytemp]
    [reboot]

    :commands
    [emptytemp]
    [reboot]

NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system
  3. Then click the Run Fix button at the top
  4. Let the program run unhindered, reboot when it is done
  5. Attach the new log produced by OTL (C:\_OTL)

Thanks for your help with this but I decided to restore a backed-up clean image as it seemed like the easiest and quickest thing to do at this point.

Thanks again for all your help, it is very much appreciated
