I've got a question about detection's from a Comodo Cleaning Essentials Smart Scan (which I am running as a part of the How to Know If You Are Infected Guide which came form the Staying Safe Online Guide).

I just want to know if it's safe to clean and repair the detection's as the guide doesn't specify, it only says do not quarantine anything.

It looks to me like those are PUP applications.

What you can do, to find out if they are actually dangerous or not, is to upload them to VirusTotal and post the links to the results in your response in this topic. This should give us an idea of what other AV's think of the files.

The modified HOSTS you can safely ignore if you have installed any program which is meant to alter the HOST file. If you're not sure you can list off the applications on your computer which you think could possibly perform that sort of action.

Thanks Chiron, excellent idea. I'll upload them to VT and see that comes out. I'm pretty sure the host file was my doing and can be changed back to normal.

Looks like some of them can be removed. I exported the 1st reg key which came up clean, the 2nd reg entry pointed to a folder. And not sure how to scan the Schedule Task detection with Virus Total.
