The latest press releases show the new version of Chrome will help prevent MITM attacks.
Breaking News Push Notifications (Updated 19 Oct 2017)
Currently available for Chrome Canary users, Google is enabling a new breaking news push notification feature, powered by Google Cloud Messaging. Under the flag #enable-breaking-news-push, the service will work on both Desktop and Mobile and alert users of critical news in global issues and areas relevant to them.

At its current state, the Chrome Flags page suffers from some visual issues and overall bad UX. Chrome 63 (or earlier) is hoping to improve this by adding a number of features, and changing the layout altogether. Users will benefit from:
FTP Websites marked as Insecure (Updated 20 Sep 2017)
Chrome 63 is said to mark all File Transfer Protocol websites as insecure, and place the well-known Chrome warning screen before accessing such a site. Chrome security team members have said that this only accounts for less than 0.01% percent of traffic, but as the connection is established via plain text, the browser will now raise red flags.
While this is hardly a feature, along with tightening security around Symantec certificates, Google is clearly maintaining security a top priority for its new releases.
MITM Attack Prevention
The browser will now feature advanced security from man-in-the-middle attacks. The security feature will alert Chrome 63 users with a warning screen, which will appear if any security software installed on the system is causing an interference to encrypted SSL traffic.
If Chrome suspects an MITM risk, the errors which will appear on-screen can be one of the following:
