I've doublechecked typical issues in the browser. Going directly to google.com and searching from there is fine. I have no suspicious Extensions and the search engine for the omnibox is set to google.

Hate to double-post, but there seems to be no way to edit posts. Even going directly to google.com is redirecting now, so it seems less of an issue with the omnibox, and more an issues with google searching. Regardless of which way I initiate a search, it *does* initially goto to Google's search (at least in the URL) but almost immediately gets redirected.

Hello,

Please download Zemana AntiMalware and save it to your Desktop.
  • Install the program and once the installation is complete it will start automatically.
  • Without changing any options, press Scan to begin.
  • After the short scan is finished, if threats are detected press Next to remove them.
Note: If restart is required to finish the cleaning process, you should click Reboot. If reboot isn't required, please restart your computer manually.
  • Open Zemana AntiMalware again.
  • Click on
    4zu6vb.jpg
icon and double click the latest report.
  • Now click File > Save As and choose your Desktop before pressing Save.
  • The only left thing is to attach saved report in your next message.

It caught a few things, and running a second time reports clean, however this did not fix the issue. As a side note, I expected to be emailed of new posts by watching this thread. Is that possible and is there a setting I need to enable for that?

FRST is stuck in an infinite Update Complete loop, and restarts itself every few seconds. It's impossible to run.

Zemana detected a few more things on a deep scan, and the issue has gone away for now. If one of the things it detected looks relevant, then maybe it's fixed.
