I remember it had some issues in the past, but this time (after testing it for about a month), I found it stable and reliable; perhaps something has changed.

Floorp 11 was the best Firefox-based browser for me, but version 12 is disappointing; it removed every good feature that was in version 11.

Thank you very much for the information regarding security, I was unaware of that, and thank you also for mentioning Betterfox, I will try it.
In my case Waterfox has been a pain in the ***. Floorp is running flawlessly here. I see it as the best well-polished FF Fork. I might change it to Firefox ESR, but not now.

How can I change it? Is there a way to restore version 11? Is it still supported with effective updates? I don't think one developer has the ability to work on two projects at the same time (and don't forget that he is also a student, so there is not enough time, and in Japan, students study 24 hours a day 😆).

No no I'm using version 12. I honestly do not care about features. For example Vivaldi has so many options to customise the browser which I do find overwhelming.

In the case of Floorp, I do not use 99% of its features.

There is a browser called Catsxp which is basically a fork of Brave but without the Crypto stuff. I gave it a try and I like it. But I stopped using it when I found that it is not open-source!

This is almost receiving updates daily; everyday I find it on Softpedia; Vivaldi is lagging behind in updates.
The only reason keeping me from trying Catsxp is its country of origin.
The country of origin should not be an issue if it was open-source. It is not! That's too suspicious for me.

@Divine_Barakah Does Floorp 12 have Betterfox profiles as in Floorp 11 or not?
Honestly I have no idea. Let me check that for you once I get back home.
Personally I have never used Betterfox profiles before and I did it know that Floorp used them in version 11.

I understand why users have Vivaldi, I tried it recently & on a purely personal basis there was far to many options for me, I use Wolf which can be setup as I like it in ten mins.
And Vivaldi apparently is heading the same way Opera did. They I introduced a VPN. The Browser has so many options including mail app. I know everything can be disabled, but I don't like this.

You'll feel that Vivaldi's features are bloat until you need to use them in real life, and it took me several attempts to accept that; it's designed for productivity, not just browsing.
I'm starting to like Edge now. I think this is the most optimized Browser in terms of RAM management for Windows.
In general, Chromium browsers are more efficient in my opinion, but what I like about browsers based on Firefox is that I can disable disk caching. For normal browsing, the result will be the same, but for watching videos, it will reduce the writing volume by gigabytes.

For Windows, my choice is Firefox because every single bit of it is 100% customizable. You can change literally everything, from the way how it looks to the way how it works. If I had to pick favorite Chromium browser, Brave any day. But with extra customization to disable all crypto crap.

For Android, my only choice is Brave because all other web browsers are terrible, Firefox being the worst there as it's severely undeveloped.

I have a question for forum users who have installed:

  • Chrome
  • Brave

Logically, Chrome should be faster than Brave in the Speedometer 3.1 test.
Is this really the case?
If so, is it possible to see the difference in results with images?

Thank you in advance.;)(y)
Why do you think Chrome should be faster than Brave? All Chromium browsers have same speed because they all use the same rendering engine.

It's like comparing green and red apples; they are apples just with different taste and skin. Exactly like Chromium browsers.

Actually, they are not.
Not due to difference in engine, but how good is the program code on top of the engine.
For example, Vivaldi is almost equal to Chrome for browsing, but when dealing with YT videos, or even menu animations in Whatsapp web, it has problems of stutter and more than average cpu usage.

I could not find the ideal chromium broswer; each one has ist pros and cons; I just select the one which pros are mandatory for me, and which cons can be lived with.

I tend to use Edge mostly but I prefer Firefox in terms of using my uBlock Origin in Hard mode but if I'm alt tabbing to Firefox, it eats up the bandwith and the other application will grind to a halt whereas with Edge, it doesn't seem to have an impact on anything else if I'm looking stuff up. Well, that was the case. Will give it a fresh go and see if that's still happening before I vote :)

I believe that the greater slowdown is due to the added code compared to Chrome.
And probably to the internal adblock feature.
When it will be possible to disable this feature,
@LinuxFan58 wrote at the end of January 2026, perhaps the comparison will be fairer.

But maybe I'm wrong, theory is often different from practice, regarding the test, which is always a test and like any test has limitations.;)
