I switched from ChatGPT to Gemini. Generally speaking, it does give me better and more correct answers. Considering Google's index is the largest of any other search engine, it shouldn't come as a surprise.

I would say ChatGPT is still better. I get a lot of wrong answers from Gemini to the point that I use it a lot less than I used to.
Paid Gemini might be a different case though but the free Gemini Flash hasn't been good for me for a while.
It's fine for factual knowledgeable queries. Like randomly, I wanted know about the digestive system of some animals, about a week ago. For those kinds of queries, it is great but for anything technical, it's often wrong in my experience.

I have and it is better than vanilla flash but regarding technical stuff, it is often wrong similar to Flash or gives overly complicated solution that should not be recommended.

I asked Gemini Flash, ChatGPT and Claude a question about dnsproxy (which I use on my router) yesterday. Gemini was totally wrong while both ChatGPT and Claude were correct.

Just now I asked the same question to Gemini Flash Extended, it gave a different answer that require me to modify a certain file to achive what I need but there's no guarantee that it's going to work. Besides, modifying that file should be the last resort if nothing else works.

The actual solution is to simply add a line in the config file but Gemini Flash/Flash Extended has no knowledge about it.

So in my experience, Flash is not the best for such technical questions.

Flash 3.8 has been released recently but only available to paid users at the moment. I will try it again when it becomes available for general users.
