Well between last check and today, Comodo seemed to have implemented some improvements. So don'' t know whether this was introduced by this build, but in (some) previous version it was possible to edit (reduce) the local trusted Vendors list, but when checking new programs the cloud verdict overruled local verdict. Also after updates the local data base was reset to default.

In my setup AppLocker blocks unsigned executables and installers in user space (and only allows Microsoft signed scripts and activeX),
while behavioral blocker allows these vendors from User\Kees (Sandbox set to "Run only safe applications"). In stead of Windows's AppLocker MalwareTips members can use OS_Armor FREE (there is an option to allow only signed programs in user folders).

By excluding AV's scanning and BB's Sandbox from UAC protected folders, Comodo Cloud is a light and easy to use extension in my Default Deny setup with a hole (the 'hole' is allowing all signed programs, effectively limited to user folders of Kees) :) Only 5 - 10% of the malware is signed so this allow signed only is as effective as installing a tier-2 antivirus. Free Comodo reduces this 5-10% risk to the unlikely event that Microsoft or Mozilla signatures are stolen. This combo probably exceeds the protection of any top-tier paid AV.

Note: the hardening setting of OS_Armor and Comodo's Command Line Analysis, will probably protect you against the most advanced threats (e.g. file less malware using windows build in scriptors). So anyone (still on Windows 7) looking for an easy to use free default deny setup should consider the OS_Armor and Comodo Cloud combo.
