You Can stop following this post and then you do not have to read it and will not be tired of it. Simple suggestion but very effective!
Maybe you could crawl back into your linux bubble and not vex yourself with windows concerns ?

Simple suggestion but very effective.

Don`t think you have time for any of that carry on? Are you not busy elsewhere producing a video review?
Cruelsister does not initiate this parade and does not participate in it. It’s other people doing it.
Including you.

All this discussion about Comodo reminded me a few years back in this forum when we were discussing Umbra Antivirus. The only solution in the market that could go back in time and eliminate the virus while the source code was still being written. It was later upgraded and deleted the virus autor(s) as well :)
And Panda with ForgottenSeer 58943's settings

And Panda with ForgottenSeer 58943's settings
Panda has literally no settings. The only valuable setting is turning application control on, but it generates a lot of alerts, leading to fatigue. This is the problem with alerts and user dependent solutions, when the alert is always there, it’s not meaningful anymore.

There also some intrusion prevention settings under firewall and that’s about it.

Kidding aside, I actually have been looking at other solutions, should Comodo Firewall ever fail me. At my age, pushing 79, I figure I've only got 25 or 30 years left, so still have a little time. I think AVG free might be the way. It always rates high, IF you believe the tests.

If you want to use AVG, opt for the Internet Security version. First it is cheap. Second, it will not keep nagging you.

Having used the most recent release of the free CFW for a few weeks a while ago, it seemed clear to my non expert pov that a lot of technical ingenuity went into its development. Too bad the firewall user interface is too cumbersome to quickly and easily create rules - too many mouse clicks and typing required - it does not filter IPv6, and the antivirus module - which I did not use - is reportedly less than stellar. If the developers could improve these areas and other reported bugs, it would be a first-rate product, on par with the home-use products offered by industry heavyweights such as Kaspersky, Eset, Norton and perhaps a few others in the top tier category. The lack of IPv6 filtering was particularly a deal breaker for me which compelled me to restore an image created before the CFW installation.

Comodo should probably just get rid of the HIPS and focus on the other components, especially the firewall, containment and antivirus in order to simplify it and strengthen its anti-malware capabilities.

All my comments are completely unbiased based on my experience using the product quite extensively over several weeks usage.

Try Portmaster Firewall. It's free and if you have even minimal knowledge, you can set it up to suit you. From what I understand, the default settings are enough.
