Lynx........I think there are people here jealous of CS and the fact a few others listen and use her recommendations rather than theirs. Perhaps the fact that she's female has something to do with it as well.
It is why I post what I do. To get to the point of the matter that casual readers understand software pushed by users with way more experience may not be suitable for them. At least help them understand "how" products work so they know what they are getting into.

As far as the jealousy and users slamming on each other defending a product I have no desire to be affiliated with that aspect. Users need to decide for themselves what works for them, their uses of system and of course by their level of experience and capabilities to handle such software. It is one thing to follow a guide on how to set something up and quite another one to understand why you just made those changes and what they affect.

As for the reason possibly being because this user claims to be female, well that's just speculative. Everyone should be aware that this is the Internet and anyone can pretend to be what they want in places where real names are not used and all identities are hidden behind screens. CS could be a male sitting in his parents basement with too much time on his hands for all we know. Never presume to know what you think you see on the Internet, question everything.

CS could be a male sitting in his parents basement................. But to some people, assuming CS is female, her operating in a presumed male field is enough to trigger them.

I'm not sure when or why computers, repair, function, programming etc was ever considered a male field. It cannot compare to working as a roughneck in the oil fields.

If that would be the case then those triggered stem from a testosterone problem which they will need to seek medical assistance to prevent them from pounding on their chest, ruffling their peacock feathers while simultaneously preventing them from peeing on everything. I'm pretty sure they make a pill for that now days.

That's just my opinion by seeing that every time Cruelsister posts, the same several are there to denounce what she's said - whether Comodo related or other topics.

This kind of posts feeds into that though, as it screams gender inequality. Instead of directly addressing the issues. Some members commenting took issue with the statement "oblivious to malware" made in the video, an unnecessary statement. Also a incorrect statement because simultaneously there was another thread with products stopping the sample, which ironically enough was not even being tested with real world testing to test the scope of the products abilities.

This could have all been avoid without the comment. Matter of fact, it's best to test a product and let its results speak for itself. Less attention may be made to the thread but at least it would then be a more positive aspect. This responsibility lies in the hands of user testing and posting.

I stepped in just because of part of that aspect. The improper testing but comments made. Then default deny topic comes up so I addressed that as well.

CS is correct that testing of specific modules is still relevant as to how they perform should something slide by other modules or those modules be ineffective. It is not correct however to state a product fails without first properly testing all modules.

It is also very incorrect to assume that just because a handful of users are using a guide to set up this installation of CIS that they can accurately handle the application if issues did arise. Since they lack understanding to set it up themselves and most likely lack deep understanding of the operating system and how the applications they choose to run interact with the OS.

So basically a disclaimer stating that the product is not designed for novice to average users and lack of unnecessary untrue comments would stop a lot of this.

Lynx.......In fact it does scream gender inequality, by those several who consistently challenge her posts and dissect every phrase she utters.

None of us ever announced their genders. Why do you assume that we are different genders? Very presumptuous you know… and totally not related to the technical discussion. Just saying.

I'm not attacking you, only that post.

I write. My crap novels have characters. When one of my female characters speaks, she has to "sound" female. Women often use different phraseology than men. Not always but sometimes. Despite today's world, there are differences between men and women, and I'm old enough to thank God for those differences, including their speech.

Woke works. It has become a catch-all term in America to mean just about anything one side or the other disagrees with, including now finding it offensive to see women functioning well in supposedly traditional male fields.

I don't think these people are “jealous of Comodo”.
I used Comodo too, until it kindly blocked me from Windows updates several years ago (it was in 2010/2011 I can't remember...) .
Which led me to use a Ghost that I'd done in a hurry (when I was just a kid, watching the videos that some people said Comodo was great).

I have nothing against Comodo, nor against @cruelsister (I love his work and I follow his channel), but I have a certain discomfort with the Comodo Fanboy who would give anything for this software to enter the “Comodo is my honey” box :D

I'm using Comodo Firewall again. I dumped it a couple of years ago and moved on to Kaspersky. I am loyal to a product as long as it works, but will dump it in a heartbeat if it becomes (in my opinion) old and potentially ineffective due to it's age and lack of updates. Now, with Kaspersky banned, or about to be banned, here in USA, I'm back to the latest version of Comodo. Time will tell, but so far doing fine on this laptop.

And I hope it stays that way! ;)
Maybe one day I'll give it another go, but for now it's a clear no.
