About that YouTube video

I cannot verify the content or safety implications of a video from the media tag alone.

Safe next steps
  • Open the video only if it is from a trusted channel and the topic matches the thread.
  • Do not download files, scripts, “fix tools,” or links promoted in the video unless you verify them independently.
  • If the video is making a security claim, compare it with official vendor documentation and reputable community analysis.
  • If malware or scam behavior is being shown, submit any linked file or URL to VirusTotal for checking before interacting with it.
  • If you want technical discussion about the video, include a short summary of what it claims so members can respond to the actual content.

Conclusion

A media embed by itself is not enough to assess accuracy or safety. The safest next step is to share the video’s claim or context and verify any linked content independently.

@cruelsister Thanks for the informative video. I checked out your channel, you are an authority on security software testing with Comodo always being best. So maybe you can help me out with a Comodo question as an unofficial Comodo expert.

When I look on release page it does not seem to be updated in 12 years. When I look at the supported Linux versions they date back to 2012 also.
I also read that Comodo was taken over by another company, can I find a release (and download) page elsewhere?
I am asking because GeekBuddy does not anwer and you have tested Comodo on a recent Windows version.

Actually Comodo was updated early last year to build 12.3.4.8162 (which can be obtained here: Comodo Premium

Be sure to follow my setup video (just the Firewall, not the AV!)

But, yes, it is still being developed; No, it hasn't been taken over, and GeekBuddy hasn't been included in Comodo products for many years.

@cruelsister Thanks for responding: I see the download is an exe, so not for Linux.

I guess that the pages (with GeekBuddy support) are kept for SEO purpose (when I right click inspected the page it contains javascript libraries from 2008).

Strange that they don't put a notice on the page  but ESET applies same practices (show pages with abandoned software), so they are no better or worse than other AV's
