Hi guys,

i know i haven't been the most active member, but i've been travelling a lot and now i have exams. :dodgy:
But i have a slight problem with my (rather new) laptop.

Now my laptop does everything fine when it's plugged in. The problem only occurs when it is on battery power, it's starts to get sluggish and FPS drop tremendously. I can only guess that it's the computer lowering the power to the memory card/processor/etc. I've tried changing the power program in Windows, but to no avail. I've checked the BIOS setup, but couldn't find anything either.

here's my laptop (MSI GT683DX-470).

OS : MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
Processor : Intel Core i5 @ 2.30GHz 46 °C Sandy Bridge 32nm Technologie
RAM : 6,00 GB Dual-Kanaal DDR3 @ 665MHz (9-9-9-24)
Motherboard : Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. MS-16F2 (SOCKET 0) 28 °C
Graphics : Generic PnP Monitor (1920x1080@59Hz (should be 60 bit right ?) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570M
Harddrives : 488GB Western Digital WDC WD5000BPKT-22PK4T0 ATA Device (SATA) 35 °C
Optical Drives : TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L633F ATA Device
Audio : High Definition Audio Device

anyone any idea ?

thanks,
eXp

Normally when you unplug a laptop, the power plan changes and your CPU is down-clocked, brightness is lowered, etc. to save battery life. I think MSI has something called ECO engine and you can turn it off/on with Fn+F5 keys. There is also that Turbo function if your laptop has it - it OC-s the GPU when the laptop is plugged in. Also try the latest drivers for laptop. I can see that nVidia has a recent version of drivers for your card, try them as well: link.
