Nothing fancy at all.
Avast free with Web and File Shields. I don't bother with CC in Avast as it seems half-baked.
Hardened mode is currently off.

Pretty nice in my opinion!, maybe adding ransomware protection like McAfee Ransomware Incerpector or Kaspersky Anti-Ransomware Tool would be fine.

Avast Passwords can provide secure password management, if OP doesn't want to use LastPass.

My PC is an older one and I am goin to get a couple of new Windows machines with W10 this or next month.
The other machines in the house are a Mac and a Linux box right now

Avast, aha,I had Avast Premier before Bitdefender Total Protection, and the outstanding Safezone Vpn, i never had any problems what so ever.
