Cryptomining & Cryptocurrency via Browsers and your CPU

Came across this interesting article, and because of it, I found an extension called minerBlock for Chrome and Firefox that is supposed to prevent this:

Websites use your CPU to mine cryptocurrency even when you close your browser

Another interesting "marvel" of the Internet that I just learned about after so many surfing years. Who would have thunk it?

Thought all of you would like to be aware especially the noobs.

I don't know about you, but I would:
  1. Enable a coin mining blocklist to ad-blocker
  2. Properly terminate browser
Rather not have 12 different extensions for each type of web / browser threat.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just found a blocklist actually called MInerBlock that I added to my Ubo. One less extension.
