Hello,

I am pleased to announce that a new BETA version of Crystal Security is available.

What's new in Crystal Security 3.7

Added new Dynamic Engine

Dynamic engine is a new in-house engine. It is based on different rules set to determine if file is malicious or not.
It works in offline mode and does not require any database or database updates.

Added new Settings

- Show result based on in-house engines -

• When unknown file is detected by Collective engine then decision will be based on other in-house engines
• No more unknown alerts (useful for average users)

- Do not alert - wait for cloud response -

• File will be uploaded to the cloud (without any alert/decision)
• When analysis are done, then there will be known result for file by Collective engine

Improved Shell integration

When you start right-click scan then Crystal Security shows Overview section automatically which will help to keep an eye on analysis.

Improved User Interface

There are several changes under Settings (Protection and Behavior) section and also on notifications.

Improved Performance and other features

There are a lot of other changes and improvements in many features.

Two different types of downloads

Download installer version of Crystal Security 3.7.0.1
Download portable version of Crystal Security 3.7.0.1

Please uninstall any previous version completely to avoid conflicts.

Notice: Dynamic engine is currently enabled only in Active protection.

Hi @Petrovic,

Thanks for the feedback.

Detection is caused by Dynamic engine.

In early stage it may cause False Positive detections. It will be improved over-time with improved rules set.
If there are too many False Positive detections by Dynamic engine then please disable it under Settings.

Hello, I did not know this program so far, it can be used as main AV or just as a secondary? Congratulations, although I have not done any testing yet, it seems to me a promising AV.

How to manual check a file(-s)?

@Petrovic,

There are several ways to analyze file(s) manually:

Under Overview section

1. Add file manually
2. Right-click on selected file
3. Choose Analyze Selected File

After that you should see result for file.

Another method is Shell scan. In your feedback I see that Shell integration was blocked by Dynamic engine (will be fixed).
Finally, You can try to copy executable files to another location. It should trigger active protection automatically.

Thank you for the interest.

Crystal Security is a good secondary layer for your main protection.
I suggest to use it with some other AntiVirus or AntiMalware.

Bug confirmed (there is wrong AppData path in Shell integration). Will be fixed in the next version.

Just tested the following malware pack: 13/2/2017 #15
Dynamic engine detected and blocked all executable files (12/15). It missed 3 javascript files.

Other members can also test Dynamic engine separately:

• Enable Dynamice engine
• Disable Collective engine

Set Action for Unsafe files to User intervention (then you can see which engine detected file). Apply settings.

1. Download malware pack (use safe environment)
2. Start Crystal Security
3. Extract downloaded malware pack
4. Wait for results
