I just installed 7.98 over 7.97 but first I put 7.97 in disable/install mode. Then 7.98 with runbysmartscreen. it balked, but [try again] and it installed, I then opened settings because I want to reset the Whitelist (387), but first looked at User Log. in the open screen I see 3 "auto-blocked" installcyberlock797.tmp, updater.exe \appdata\local\temp\ , & installcyberlock798.tmp -- these 3 are (were) all in \appdata\local\temp\ ( fwiw -- fwiw)
Disable / Install mode is for when you want to install new software, like Microsoft Office, and do not want it to add tons of one-time installer stuff to the whitelist. After we talked about this recently, I looked at that part of the code, and there is no way to use this mode for manual CyberLock beta installs safely, and without creating a potential vulnerability. So whenever you manually install CyberLock, please exit out of it first... we have to exit out so that we can install and overwrite the old installation.

I am actually happy to see that they are Auto Blocks in this situation. CyberLock is just protecting itself, so it is working as designed. Thank you!

Perfect -- THANKS for the clarification. :D
EDIT -- I just manually installed 7.98 over 7.97 but first EXITed CL and smooth (this was on a testing VM). I also cleared the WhiteList & User Log, and I'll carefully note "stuff"

Thanks for the bday present!!
Did a fresh install and running smoothy :D

I love how CL picks up these Asus scripts ;) It is just my Asus updating itself but I wish it would do it in a straight forward way rather than a suspect powershell...

Anyway, thanks for such a fantastic product :D

Hello,
I manually scanned the main executable of the popular file manager FreeCommanderXE and the CyberLock's alert reports that there is a issue with the digital signature and that it can't be verified by CyberLock, unlike firefox.exe for example . What could be the reason of this ?
Futhermore the allow button is labeled "Install" but it should be "Allow" as freecommander.exe is the main executable, not the setup file. Anyway I don't know if CyberLock is able to distinguish a setup file from non-setup executable files so maybe this isn't a real issue.
I have CyberLock 8.0

Thanks in advance

did you click the option to get a second (virustotal) opinion: it may shed more light on the issues with the signature (or not), there is also a box to report false positive. fwiw, mullvad vpn either is not signed or it also has an issue and CL alerts because of it signature. If you are sure it's a false+ you can mark WhiteListCloud that it is safe.

Yep, it opens the Virustotal webpage VirusTotal and under the "Details" tab it says that's a valid signature so I was just wondering why CyberLock reports a issue with it.
This is certainly a false positive but I don't understand why CyberLock reports that it cannot verify the digital signature, unless the reason is precisely that it is a false positive.

@danb understands signature variations better than me, but if you email support, he is typically diligent about checking out issues.

In the red prompt above, it says "The digital signature cannot by verified by CyberLock." We have a large list of vetted publishers, and when they are not on the list, you will see this prompt, although over the years we have added most of the signatures, so you should not see this prompt that often.

The issue in this case was the slight difference in the letter n, so I just had to add both versions to our database and it is working now. You will need to exit out of CyberLock and start it again, since it now caches the signer names for performance. Thank you!

Thank you for the clarification and for the quick reply, as usual.

Hello, there is a conflict with windows installer in the services system with the last version on windows 11, no msi can't be installed after this , like adguard for exemple.
Interesting, thank you for letting me know! What is the Windows 11 version number? Can you send me a link to the adguard msi installer? I am not able to find it. Please let me know and I will test and fix the issue. And if you have any other info, please let me know.

it's me again, yeah sure :

my windows version is :

Édition Windows 11 Professionnel
Version 24H2
---------
Build du système d’exploitation 26100.2033
Expérience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.23.0

adguard was an exemple, as i said before,

even the net user administrator don't work when the windows installer can not run (because the access to run windows installer is refused, because of the cyberlock service driver),
so if there is something i can desactivate on cyberlock 8.0, please tell me.

that is all for now.

Thank you for the info! I installed 24H2 to test, is this the screen you are seeing? If so, it is not a CyberLock block, you can verify by exiting out of CyberLock and trying again... you will see the same message. If you are seeing a different message, can you please post a screenshot?

Hello,
if it can help you can install Adguard for Windows from its GitHub webpage, not the msi installer but the executable AdGuard-7.20.2-.4988.exe below "Assets" at Releases · AdguardTeam/AdguardForWindows
I don't know if it could work for you but it could worth a try. AdGuard for Windows 7.20.2 is the latest stable build, not a beta or nightly.
