mm I want to add some info:

Use 32, not 64 (actually veter codecs compatibility)
DON'T USE ANY CODE PACK.
Install with LAV 32 (you doesn't need more codecs)
If you have great computer install madVR

This is great—thanks for doing it!

I still have one question about PotPlayer. When I first started using it, I was able to control play & pause via my Bluetooth headphones. Now that doesn't work. I don't know if a PP update broke it, or if it's a setting I have to re-make somewhere. Does anyone have a clue about this? Thanks, a.

PotPlayer can store multiple configurations. Go to Preferences->Configuration. Then create a new Preset like Configuration 1 (which backs up the current configuration), and then a new Preset called "Clean", then keeping it as active, click on the Initialize button on the bottom left, that will reset all the preferences. Check if it works then.

Why do you recommend using it 32bit on 64bit os, can you be tad more specific please ?

Here's a great guide on getting high quality video out of PotPlayer. Although in my opinion MPDN is better in terms of playback quality, if you can live without a few bells and whistles.

PotPlayer Guide
And pretty much an overkill. Just install lav and fix the lav video to use the method you wish. Quality is not so much different and way less steps.

once I updated this application and AvASTwarn me about malware on that update packs!
I think pot player is a rebranded version of km player and it's not safe:p
Issue is that avast sucks. Potplayer is by the same developer of kmplayer. He sold kmplayer and then made potplayer which is perfectly safe assuming you got it from the developer site.

Actually it is. This guide takes into consideration what type of video card you are using. You will notice stark differences on the highest settings, but will also see performance drops if your hardware isn't up to it.

MPDN saves me lots of time by allowing me to just going to a custom user script that does it all more efficiently.
