  1. This setup configuration does not have a backup plan. We strongly recommend to add a backup solution for your data so that you can restore it in the case of an emergency.
    Backing up allows the recovery of data that has been lost due of a malware attack (eg. ransomware) or a hard disk crash. In such events you might lose family photos, your music collection, documents, or financial data. Backups are fast and simple to perform so it should be done on a regular basis.

@deathsmear:
  • Please specify the exact version number of MalWareBytes.
  • Also consider to pair MWB with NVT OSA, for example, to harden the real-time protection.
  • As for "Virus and Malware Removal Tools", You may add: ZAM Free and Norton Power Eraser & HitMan.Pro. Free.
  • As for "Disk Imaging Backup", You may add Macrium Reflect Free or AOEMI Backupper, both are free and reliably.
  • A PassWord Manager would be welcome also.
Please kindly reflect Your changes editing Your config, and announcing them here, thanks for sharing Your config :giggle:

Windows 7 doesn't come with an AntiVirus pre-installed. Malwarebytes is NOT an AntiVirus. An infected USB drive is all that will be required to infect your PC. Please consider a proper AntiVirus like Kaspersky, Avast, ESET. Also Malwarebytes doesn't come with a firewall. Your post states you have a third party firewall but you have not specified what you use. And I agree with the rest. Use a good backup software (even the inbuilt will suffice).

What's your 3rd party firewall?

You only have a possibility of 2 layers covered, out of 3, in web protection & Firewall. Only thing missing is a backup solution. Please also take a look at OSArmor and Syshardener to fruther harden your OS.

Consider to install ZAM Free and Malwarebytes as on demand scanners. You should be all set then.
