New Update Defender Hardening Console Executable

Announcing End of Life for Defender Hardening Console, Helios Web Marshall, hea-p.com, The Inspector Hawk and Talon.

I thank everyone who supported me on this journey but now I’ve decided that I want to cancel the software development processes to focus on something new — a laundry company (Trident Launderations Limited).

This has not been an easy decision to make and I understand it may disappoint some people.

Defender Hardening Console will continue to be hosted for several months so it could be downloaded.

Hello,
FYI, I just downloaded from official website both installer than portable and Microsoft Defender flags and quarantines Release.zip as malware, no issues with DHCInstaller.exe.

I will most likely sign this software soon.

Even though a digital signature will probably be around £600 which for a free software is a substantial cost, it will resolve all these auto-generated detections.

Consider adding a donations link for your software.

I must agree which is rather expensive, I hope that when you'll release in the future a paid version with added features you can easily recover the costs incurred for the digital signature.

Dear @Trident,

I've been testing DHC recently in both virtual machines and on my live system, and it's working really well. I especially like the visual design and overall interface.

I was wondering if you've considered adding a system tray icon for the application? It would make it much easier to access and manage on the fly.

Additionally, I think a tray icon would make even more sense if paired with real-time monitoring features — for example, monitoring settings changes made by DHC, firewall activity, or real-time protection status. Are there any plans to implement real-time monitoring or protection features in future updates?

Thank you for your great work, and I look forward to future updates.

Best regards,

Bruno Eduardo

Hello @Bruno Eduardo ,

Thanks for your feedback.

Yes, there will be a firewall and connection control in real time at one point in DHC.

I am not sure when, but I would expect sometime in May. I’ve already made progress in this relation.
The firewall will appear first and with that, there will be a service and a tray icon.

I have planned 3 modes: paranoid, elevated and automatic.

The prompts will be rather small and focused, with ability to expand for more information.

Just to make it a bit more clear, the project also uses major cyber security providers for scanning as well as connection monitoring, plus proprietary heuristics. It does not use open source projects. These contracts and architectural choices are the most critical ones, everything else is easy to do.

So it can be expected that these features will have a high performance.

This is an early preview of the firewall in Paranoid mode, along with an open task manager.

The product is expected to be rebranded to Privacy + Hardening (ditching nerdy terms) and the module will be marketed as Always On - no nerdy terms here either.

The safety scoring from the monitor will be displayed in the prompts.

Announcing all branding changes that are about to come.

These branding changes are designed to communicate the sophisticated architecture clearly.

Behavioural Airlock -> Always On
Continuous Adaptive Hardening -> Active Sense
ProContext -> Intelligence Service
Deep Firewall Control -> goes away (not needed). Its legacy powers the new firewall.
Scanner -> Nano Power
Defender Hardening Console -> Privacy + Hardening
Client and Service -> Small and Mighty

Sorry i am confused. In the previous post, you mentioned end of the life of DHC.
Are you still working on this?
